Juventus coach Max Allegri: Cardiff really disappointing

Juventus coach Max Allegri admits losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid was a career frustration last season.

The Bianconeri played their second final in three years, but again emerged defeated.

“It's really disappointing, because people didn't understand the importance of what we did," Allegri told Mediaset Premium.

“Right now nobody is talking about it, but in future they will all realise the value of what we achieved.

“Unfortunately, that's always the way. Maybe we'll win the third Final. In any case, this year we'll have another great Champions League campaign.

“We had a good first half against Real Madrid. The danger was in the second half, especially as Mario Mandzukic and Miralem Pjanic were basically limping.

“Real understood the difficulties of the game in the first half, but when they realised that they could step on the gas, they did just that. It's what great teams have to do."
