Juventus coach Ferrara delighted with victory over Roma

Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara was delighted after their 3-1 win at Roma yesterday.

Diego's wonderful brace and a late Felipe Melo strike cancelled out Daniele De Rossi's screamer at Roma's Olimpico.

"There is a long road ahead of us full of potential pitfalls and obstacles," said Ferrara.

"I don't think having six points now is as important as knowing we have a strong team and excellent players."

Of the three Scudetto favourites, they are already out in front with six points to Inter's four and just three at Milan.

"The first half was perfect, apart from the goal we conceded. In the second Roma introduced some more strikers to cause us problems and we did struggle a little.

"Overall you can say we played as a team, as we should do throughout the campaign, and deserved the victory. We were bound to have some difficulties, as we were playing on Roma's home turf."

The undoubted star of the evening was Diego, as the summer signing from Werder Bremen bagged his first Serie A brace.

"He technically very gifted indeed, but despite these skills, he also manages to make himself useful in defence. We need everyone to contribute to the overall movement like that."
