Juventus coach Del Neri can sense fans expectation

Juventus coach Gigi del Neri admits he can sense the expectation of fans ahead of the new season.

Del Neri has succeeded Alberto Zaccheroni at Juve this summer.

He said: "I feel the responsibility of being Coach of Juventus.

"When you train any team like Atalanta, Sampdoria, Chievo or Ternana, you always have objectives: it's obvious that here the bar is set higher.

"I have great respect for the millions of fans who must expect the maximum from us and we will give it.

"A lot has been done on the transfer market, but we have clarified the objectives that we would like to realise. Obviously there can be difficulties but it's Beppe Marotta's job to overcome them. I worry myself with the growth of the team.

"The World Cup has shown that the play of the team is more important than that of the individuals.

"The promise is maximum commitment and maximum professionalism. Juve can't allow itself to have a low profile season, the desire is that of obtaining the maximum.

"We have the job of working towards big objectives and fighting at the highest level. We have all the qualities to do so."
