Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is happy for Paul Pogba over his Ballon d'Or nomination.
Allegri insists it is recognition well deserved.
"The Ballon d'Or is an award that's given out based on what you do over the course of a season.
"The Italian sides did little or nothing in Europe, and the national team unfortunately didn't do very well at the World Cup, so it's normal [for no Italian players to be nominated].
"As for Pogba, I think it's good for him. The extension of his contract and the adjustments that were made by Juventus shows he's a player who is held in very high regard.
"He has everything needed to be a top player, so now it's up to him to do so, and become one of the best three best midfielders in the world."
