Juventus are chasing Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.

TMW says Juve are having the Potters captain scouted leading up to the January market.

Juve see Shawcross as a long-term defensive partner for Giorgio Chiellini and can see him developing into one of England's best centre-halves.

Shawcross came through the system at Manchester United and there's talk this week that manager Sir Alex Ferguson intends to buy him back.
