Juventus captain Del Piero thanks birthday well-wishers

Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero has thanked well-wishers after celebrating his 37th birthday.

Del Piero has thanked all his fans – particularly Francesco Totti – for the messages on his 37th birthday.

“Dear friends,” he wrote on his official website, “November 9 was truly a special day for me and you all contributed to making it that way.

“You gave me a lovely birthday surprise. That’s because I really didn’t expect the tens of thousands of messages.

“I tried to read them all on Facebook and must admit I haven’t managed it, but I’ll do everything I can to complete the job!

“As you know I am 37... in fact 3+7 is 10... but this time, and not just now, you all deserve 10 out of 10.

“I also wish to thank all my colleagues, and all my opponents, who wanted to reserve a thought for me on my birthday. Many of them said words that cannot help but move me.
