Juventus manager Antonio Conte has heaped praise on Celtic despite their apparent failure in the Champions League Round of 16.
The Glasgow giants were beaten 5-0 on aggregate by Juve over the two legs but Conte feels that Neil Lennon's men gave a great account of themselves throughout their run in the competition which included a huge win over Barcelona in the group stage.
Conte also lavished praise on the Hoops fans for the way they continued to show support during the second leg in Turin on Wednesday night despite the contest being over when Alessandro Matri scored to make it 4-0 overall in the first half of the 2-0 home win.
"I would like to thank all the supporters, the Juventus supporters especially, and the Scottish supporters because they kept on supporting the team and dancing all the time, it was a very positive example to all of us," said Conte.
"We can't forget that Celtic qualified with important results against Barcelona and Benfica so we shouldn't undervalue that they are a very strong team who had to be evaluated very carefully.
"We are in the quarter-finals, the whole club is satisfied that we are back in the elite of European football and we hope to go on the right way."
