Juventus chiefs are discussing the prospect of joining the transfer scramble for Valencia striker David Villa.

Tuttosport says Juve hope to calm supporter anger in the event of missing out on Champions League football by bringing in a top line forward this summer.

Villa tops their shopping list, followed by Wolfsburg centre-forward Edin Dzeko and Sampdoria's Giampaolo Pazzini.

The big stumbling block, however, will be trying to convince any major star to join a club without the prospect of any Champions League football in the near future.
