Italian powerhouse Juventus have announced a summer tour of the USA as preparation for the 2011/12 season.
The Old Lady of Turin will travel to Philadelphia on July 19 for a three-match tour which will include a clash with Mexican outfit Club America at Citi Field Stadium (home of the NY Mets) in New York on the 26th.
Juve will be based in the States until August 1 but at this stage just the one match has been finalised which Mets executive vice-president Dave Howard is extremely excited about.
“We’re excited about hosting events like this, but we certainly intend to make money,” he told theNew York Times.
“That’s all part of the motivation of doing events like this.”
Juventus’ squad will include the likes of Italy veterans Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon, Brazilian Felipe Melo, Serbian star Milos Krasic and current Italy national team players Vincenzo Iaquinta and Girgio Chiellini.
