Juventus have officially announced the sale of Olof Mellberg to Olympiakos.

The 31-year-old only joined the Bianconeri last summer from Aston Villa, but the signing of Fabio Cannavaro put his future in doubt.

According to a statement released to the stock exchange, the Bianconeri will receive £2.1m for Mellberg in two instalments.

Juventus will also receive £430,000 should Mellberg win the Greek Super League while playing for Olympiacos.
