Juventus ace Claudio Marchisio is proud of comparisons with Chelsea star Frank Lampard.

Marchisio is their top scorer this season, earning praise from Roberto Baggio and Pavel Nedved, plus comparisons to Chelsea and England star Lampard.

"It's always very pleasing to receive compliments and this gives you further motivation to stay at this level. This is proving to be a very good year in terms of scoring goals, but the credit goes to the whole team and their assists.

"As for Lampard, he is a great champion who has been scoring for many years, whereas I'm only at my first real season of doing this. Admittedly, having played as a striker in the youth academy helps, as you never quite lose that eye for goal," continued Marchisio on the official Juventus website.

"In previous seasons I was in a more defensive role and ran very hard. Now I am more clear-headed when getting close to the goal. The many different positions I played over the years gave me valuable experience and now I'm reaping the rewards."
