Arsenal defeated table-toppers Leicester City 2-1 on Sunday thanks to goals from substitutes Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck.
Walcott revealed that he and Welbeck were given the straightforward instruction from the bench to simply win the game when they came on and that message paid dividends as Arsene Wenger's side went within two points of the Foxes.
When asked what the instructions were, Walcott said: "Just win the game, as simple as that. Be direct, get as many balls into the box as we can.
"This big man (Sturridge) has come out. I think he's been harsh on himself, he's obviously not played for nine months and to get straight into the mix on such a big occasion and big game - the last kick of the game.
"Special players come out on games like this and that could be massive. Massive."
