Matthew Olosunde's junior mentor is backing him to make it at Manchester United.

United have added yet another highly-rated youngster to their ranks by signing American teenager Olosunde.

Olosunde, who was once on the books of New York Red Bulls, looked set to join Duke University in North Carolina after he was listed on their team website.

Duke head coach John Kerr said of the defender before his move to England: "Matthew is a fantastic player who is comfortable playing in the back or in midfield.

"He has wicked pace and has incredible defensive recovery speed. He has great one vs one instincts on both sides of the ball and will help us right away in a number of positions."
