Juninho delighted after scoring first LA Galaxy goal

LA Galaxy loanee Juninho was delighted after scoring his first goal for the MLS club.

The 21-year old Sao Paulo midfielder netted the Galaxy's second goal in the 47th minute with a 30-yard rocket which gave Sounders keeper Kasey Keller no chance and he was thrilled to have gotten off the mark in such fine style.

"For the first goal it is very important to show the fans that I am giving my all to them because they have faith in me," he said.

Galaxy skipper Landon Donovan said the goal could potentially be voted as the best for the season.

"I would say Goal of the Year candidate. Unbelievable strike," Donovan said.

"When he hit it, you're not sure where it's going, but it was an unbelievable goal. I'm happy for him. We've seen him do it in practice a lot of times so when he gets a chance in there we want him to shoot. Even if he doesn't put it there, even if he just puts it on goal, it's dangerous for the goalkeeper and it's difficult, especially with that ball, to deal with. He had a really good game otherwise and I was happy to see him get the goal."
