Former Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar admits Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was no fan of Iker Casillas.
Mourinho fell out with Casillas at Real Madrid and Julio Cesar has recalled a conversation he had with the Portuguese in 2013.
Brazil won 3-0 against Spain in the Estadio Maracana and Cesar was chosen as the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
He picked up the prize wearing a Casillas shirt, to make "a tribute for everything he did."
"When I got to the dressing room, I saw a message from Mourinho on my cell phone," he said during an interview on the Selecao Sportv programme.
"'You're crazy, it's Casillas who would have to put on your shirt and not you,' it read.
"And he told me that with only one arm I stopped more than Casillas."
After the final, Casillas went to the Brazilian dressing room to thank Julio Cesar for the gesture.
"Iker went to the dressing room to talk to me and I told him to have a discussion with Mourinho, which is difficult but he had to face it," Cesar continued.
"Mourinho likes to go face to face with the players who are considered stars in the teams that he coaches."
