Jovetic defends Fiorentina players over nightclub rumours

Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic has defended the players against fans and local media anger.

One of the issues in Florence has been reported nights out clubbing, but Jovetic insists this was all blown out of proportion.

“We are young and want to have fun, as we can’t just stay locked up at home all the time. Of course we don’t go out two or three days before a game, but if we stay out late after having played, there’s nothing wrong with that.

“I judge the squad on what we do on the pitch and none of us have ever turned up late to training or given less than 100 per cent. We are always concentrated and all doing our duty.

“Our objectives for this season are firstly to reach the 40 points that secure safety, then to bring people back to the stadium.

“In the long-term, I’d like to win the Ballon d’Or. Who wouldn’t?”
