Former Palermo midfielder Josip Ilic is delighted with his move to Fiorentina.

He put pen to paper on a five-year deal this afternoon, holding him to the Viola until June 30 2018.

"I am proud to be here," the Slovenian declared in a Press conference.

"From the first day that Fiorentina's proposal arrived, I immediately said yes. I wanted to come here, to join such a strong team. I was not interested in what other clubs wanted me.

"This squad deserves the Champions League. Last season I could see from the outside how good they were and now there are also players like Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez. My initial objective is to find my form, as right now my teammates are at a far more advanced stage of fitness training."
