Josh McEachran will start for Chelsea in tonight's Carling Cup tie with Newcastle United.
The Mirror says Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will have three teenagers in the starting line-up and at least another two on the bench while the 18 man party will largely be up made of youth, reserve and fringe players.
It marks a radical shift as Chelsea are now copying Arsenal by giving their youngsters a chance in the Carling Cup - just as Arsene Wenger has switched to naming a more experienced line-up.
Ancelotti will put 17-year-old midfield prodigy McEachran in the starting line-up tonight just a week after he made his debut at MSK Zilina, becoming the first player born after the inception of the Champions League to play in the competition.
McEachran, tipped to become an England star of the future, will be joined in the starting line-up by Dutch defender Jeffrey Bruma, 18, an 19-year-old French midfielder Gael Kakuta.
Italian starlet Fabio Borini, 19, is in the squad while Nottingham-born England Youth international Jacob Mellis is also set to be on the bench.
Midfielder Mellis, 19, in the final year of his professional contract, will be hoping to get his Chelsea debut during the game.
