New Real Betis striker Jose Mari is confident of winning over skeptical fans.

A former player with city rivals Sevilla, Jose Mari said: "I did everything I could to join Betis. Now I'm here and I am happy.

"I know my past will count against me for some people, but that is the life of a footballer. I'm not the first and won't be the last player to change clubs."

The 28 year-old has signed a three-year deal with Betis, which includes an option of a fourth season.
