Jose Baxter saw action for Everton U23 in their defeat by Leicester City yesterday.
Former Sheffield United attacker Baxter - playing his first match for Everton since January 2012 - came on as a second-half substitute to make his first appearance since he rejoined the club in the summer but there would be no winning return as Leicester stood firm to take the points.
Everton were poor throughout the first-half and fell behind after 38 minutes when Knight met a free-kick at the back post and headed past Louis Gray.
The Blues improved after the break with the on-loan Anton Donkor and Liam Walsh forcing Daniel Iverson into smart saves.
