Jordi Gomez is excited about his move to Wigan Athletic.
The former Espanyol midfielder told the Wigan Evening Post: "I think Wigan is a great club and I am sure we will have a very good season ahead of us.
"The team has been in the Premier League for four years now, and last season they finished comfortably in mid-table.
"I definitely think the team can improve on that this year."
Big things are expected from Gomez, who spent last term on loan under Roberto Martinez at Swansea.
"Last season was a very good for me with Roberto and his staff, and I hope this season will be the same," he added.
"I am going to work as hard as possible, which will hopefully help me to adjust to the Premier League. From the first moment Roberto told me he wanted at this club, I said 'yes' immediately. I like the way Roberto works and the way his teams play. I am very happy to be a part of it."
