Kenwyne Jones is convinced Sunderland will beat the drop after Sunday's victory over Portsmouth.

The win means Sunderland are just two points off Reading in 13th.

"We showed out hunger and our desire to beat Portsmouth and we must keep doing that for the rest of the season," said Jones. "We might still be in the bottom three but the gap has been closed and the situation is looking healthier."
