Jones: Martinez ways suit Everton perfectly

Everton assistant manager Graeme Jones has no doubt Roberto Martinez's methods are a perfect fit for the club.

Having worked in tandem at Swansea City and Wigan Athletic, Jones is assuring supporters that beyond Martinez's affable personality is a forward-thinking perfectionist who will never shy away from making important decisions.

"You are getting a very creative manager whose priority is having a tactical edge in every game he goes into," Jones told evertontv.

"He believes in possession football as well as educating the players on the right time to be dynamic and how to exploit the opposition.

"Certainly we don't believe in pot luck football; a long ball from a goalkeeper where it is a 50-50 fight scene. We like to try and control the game with possession.

"You are getting a manager that is very experienced now with over 150 games in the Premier League.

"We have experienced many different highs and lows; he's a young manager who is 39 but has a lot of experience.

"He's a fair man, a patient man and a consistent man. He has got big character and he will make a decision, no problem."
