Phil Jones is convinced Manchester United’s youngsters will benefit from winning their first league title last season.
Surprisingly, United are ranked below Chelsea and Manchester City in the title odds but Jones thinks the confidence of the Old Trafford squad will be even higher than 12 months ago because so many of the players now have winners' medals.
"It's a bit of a relief and a weight off your shoulders when you get that first title, but it also makes you more hungry," said Jones.
With a title to defend and the World Cup in Brazil next summer, the 21-year-old acknowledges the next 12 months is hugely significant.
"It's the start of a new era at United, if you like, with the new manager and the likes of me, Chris [Smalling], Danny [Welbeck], Tom [Cleverley], the twins [Rafael and Fabio], so hopefully it's an era that will carry on for many years.
"I want to do well for United and help us win trophies and I want to be on that plane to Brazil, too."
