Phil Jones admits it's a blow having Manchester United teammates Danny Welbeck and Michael Carrick out injured.
Both will miss England's friendlies against Chile and Germany over the coming week, but Jones has paid tribute to the pair.
"Michael has been in terrific form," said Jones. "He is a top player and will be missed for club and country.
"He is a great player, brings a lot to the side with his range of passing. So he will be sorely missed.
"Danny has done well on the international stage every time he has been picked for England. He is another great player and hopefully will be back fit soon."
