Jones disappointed despite comfortable Wednesday victory

Dave Jones felt League OneSheffield Wednesday lost momentum after scoring all three of their goals against Bournemouth in the opening 10 minutes. "I thought for the first 20 minutes it was going to be a rout. It just looked like we were going to run riot," said Jones. "We started like a house on fire and they were all over the place. We should have scored a fourth. It's a long time to go for 60 or 70 minutes at the same tempo.

"I thought we then tried to keep the ball in the wrong areas. We were trying to keep it in our last third rather than their last third. I can't fault them for their effort and what they were trying to do. Everything we've asked of them, they are trying to do.

"I've had nothing but a fantastic response from everybody at the club. They are getting to know me as much as I'm getting to know them. The one thing they will learn about me is that I have a standard and I expect it to be maintained - win, lose or draw.

"It's a little bit difficult for me because I'm trying to put everything in place very, very quickly. I'm also learning about this division because it's a long time since I've been at this level."
