Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones and Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker clashed after the meeting between the two clubs at Anfield on Sunday.
The Australian, who was deputising for the injured Pepe Reina, appeared to grab Parker by the throat after the final whistle of the Reds' 3-2 win when the Spurs man was exchanging words with Luis Suarez.
Mousa Dembele clashed with Suarez during the game and Parker was stepping in for his teammate as they walked off the Anfield pitch before Dembele had to be separated from Daniel Agger with Jones also getting involved.
Suarez gave Liverpool a 21st-minute lead before Jan Vertonghen scored twice either side of half-time. Stewart Downing levelled the score at 2-2 and then Steven Gerrard came up with an 82nd-minute penalty to guide the Merseysiders to sixth on the Premier League table.
