Jones: Cardiff financial future now secure

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has confirmed the clubs financial future is now safe following investment from a Malaysian consortium. Speaking after the Bluebirds`2-0 defeat to Derby, Jones said: "TG (Dato Chan Tien Ghee) came up on Saturday and spoke to the players so we all know where we are now.

"The future of the club is secure which is a nice feeling, a good feeling after the rubbish that has been spoken and written about the club and all the rumours that go around. So all that has been put to bed now and we can really get down to what we are trying to achieve."

The investment will see chairman Peter Ridsdale stand down on May 31.

And Jones added: "Peter has said he will step down and he has delivered on what he promised in terms of a new stadium and other things. I've enjoyed my time with him. You don't work with somebody for five years without building up a good friendship, a good relationship and a business relationship as well. We've had our ups and downs but he's worked hard. We leaves a legacy and now the club can move forward."
