Inter Milan fullback Jonathan says he's a better player for working with coach Walter Mazzarri this season.
The 27-year-old Brazilian made only eight Serie A appearances last season, but this term already has 10 games and a goal.
"When Mazzarri arrived, he spoke to me and said he believed in my qualities. That gave me confidence," Jonathan told Sky Sport Italia.
"He then called me up for the first gave, explained he was betting on me and had seen qualities within me. He changed me.
"I have improved in tactical terms, just like Alvarez. Ricky used to do great things in training, but he too was lacking when it came to a match situation.
"It is fundamental now for us to beat Bologna and then look to the other challenges. We are just details away from fighting with the big clubs. We mustn't look at Napoli or any of the other teams, but for now only focus on our results."
