Newcastle United winger Jonas Gutierrez is excited to be playing in Europe next season.

Jonas can't wait for European nights at St James' Park.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "It's really important that we have made it into Europe.

"When you think back to what people were saying about us at the start of last season, it is huge statement. Nobody expected us to get there.

"There were a lot of changes in the dressing room and a lot of new players who came in. But we had a really good season.

"It was always in our hands to get a place and we managed it."
