Jonas Gutierrez expects to return to Newcastle United next month.
Jonas has just an all-clear from cancer. He has not played for Newcastle for more than a year after doctors diagnosed him with testicular cancer.
Speaking after being awarded the Outstanding Sports Personality by the Buenos Aires City legislature, Gutierrez said: "I spent so many years with the club and I'm flying back at the beginning of December.
"It's something I'm really looking forward to, and I'll see how I feel once I arrived. The first thing I want to do is just to spent time with the squad.
"I want to thank the supporters from England. I appreciate all the messages. You gave me the power to beat this cancer. Thank you very much."
