Fulham boss Martin Jol said the 2-1 victory at in-form West Bromwich Albion was the perfect way to start 2013. With only one victory in the last 12 games and slipping towards the relegation zone, the Cottagers were in need of a win.
Jol told Sky Sports One: "We are in a false position but the league doesn't lie. Starting the new year with three points is great."
He was full of praise for goal-scorer Dimitar Berbatov.
"He wants us to win and do well and pass it," said Jol. "I am very happy with him."
