Stoke City new signing Glen Johnson is set to make his debut for the Potters against Brentford on Saturday.
Johnson has still not returned to peak fitness levels since signing for the Stoke and manager Mark Hughes has revealed that the defender will be sitting out Stoke's clash against Wrexham tonight.
Hughes said: "Glen hasn't played a great deal of football and at the back end of last season he didn't have too many games for Liverpool.
"As a consequence of that, he is probably a little bit behind fitness wise in terms of the other guys in the group. Due to that, we will give him a little bit more time to work on his fitness and he will get the chance of some game time further on in the week."
Nonetheless, Johnson will be putting extra work on the training pitch and is expected to make his long awaited debut for Stoke against Brentford on Saturday.
