Johnson mentor hopes ex-Fulham striker ends career in Europe

Trevor Moawad, a man who has spent a lot of time with Eddie Johnson, hopes the USA international finishes his career playing in Europe.

The 29-year old left Seattle Sounders to join DC United via a trade earlier this month but Moawad, who has worked with Johnson ever since his IMG academy days about 15 years ago, feels he still has the ability to head back to Europe before his playing days are up.

"I would hope that Eddie will consider going back to Europe," he told the Seattle Times of the former Fulham, Cardiff City, Aris Thessaloniki and Preston North End forward.

"That would be my hope. I believe he still has the ability to play at that level and I would hope that he would finish his career in Europe.

"I know his game. He can play well in Major League Soccer, so I'm sure DC will give him a good look, but I hope that Eddie finishes his career in Europe, and he knows my feelings on that."
