Johnson, Ince linked with Derby post

Gary Johnson has emerged as a possible candidate for the Derby County job, but the Bristol City manager could face stiff competition from another lower league boss in the shape of Paul Ince.

The Rams parted company with Billy Davies on Monday and the focus has now switched to who will take on the daunting task of leading a side that is rock bottom of The Premier League with a goal difference of -28.

Johnson has been touted as a leading candidate after making a huge impression in his work at Bristol City.

The former Yeovil Town and Latvia manager has taken City to sixth place in The Championship following promotion last season, and it has been suggested that Derby are readying a formal approach for the Ashton Gate chief.
