Wolves manager Terry Connor has explained his decision to hand the captain's armband back to Karl Henry.
The midfielder acted as skipper for the weekend's win over Stoke City with Roger Johnson demoted to the bench but Connor says the former Birmingham City defender was not dropped for his antics last week.
Johnson clashed with teammate Wayne Hennessey during the loss to Bolton but Connor says that is not the reason for omitting Johnson and restoring Henry as captain.
"I think he's missed just the last four or five games since Fulham. He's been more or less an ever present for us and when he plays, it's with those leadership qualities.
"It (losing the captaincy) has not had any effect on Karl. He has continued to produce a high level of performance week-in, week-out.
"We've missed him since the Fulham game, but he's back now to make a contribution to the end of the season.
"Roger not playing was nothing to do with what happened with Wayne last week. It was more about three goals coming in. I made that decision on a football basis.
"With Karl, he has been at the club for a number of years and he's been captain so I gave him the job.""I don't think we've missed Karl's leadership, because he's been on the pitch for most of the time," he told the club's official website.
