Joel Robles is determined to earn a playing spot at Everton.
While he may be biding his time, Robles desires opportunities to prove his worth, and will continue to push No1 Tim Howard hard for a chance between the sticks.
"I came to play for Everton," he told evertonfc.com. "I didn't come here to be automatic second choice. I didn't come here to be on some kind of vacation.
"What it is all about is working hard every day to try to make sure that I am ready. I have to be realistic and accept the situation that I find myself in.
"Patience is something you have to show not just in football but in life.
"At the end of the day, it is the manager who makes the decision. It is down to me to make it a difficult one for him."
