Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira is aiming to build on last season's progress.
Pereira has recalled how he won his move after successful trials.
He told ManUtd.com: "I remember I had a game with the Switzerland national team against Italy. It was one of my best games and, just after the end, I went back to the hotel with my team-mates where I received a phone call from my agent.
"He just told me somebody from Manchester United was interested in me. So I said: 'Yeah, okay' but did not talk any more about it or think that one day I could play for them. Time went on and then the agent called me again to say United were really interested in me.
"They came to watch me and I did well so they invited me to come over for one week. I could not say 'no' to the trial."
