Joe Hart breaks Premier League record for Man City

Joe Hart has become Manchester City's record Premier League appearance holder following the 3-1 defeat against Leicester City on Saturday.

28-year-old Hart, who joined from Shrewsbury Town back in 2006, has been an integral part of the City first team since returning from his third loan spell which took place at Birmingham City in 2009/10 and the goalkeeper has now reached a landmark for the Citizens by surpassing Richard Dunne as the club's record Premier League games record holder with 254 appearances.

Behind this pair in the City list during the Premier League era is current captain Vincent Kompany (215), right-back Pablo Zabaleta (201), star midfielder Yaya Toure (187), key playmaker David Silva (179) and Aston Villa skipper Micah Richards (179).

Hart still has a long way to go to become the club's all-time leading appearance holder though as the list is currently topped by Alan Oakes who made 564 league appearances.
