Villarreal have announced the re-signing of Joan Capdevila.

The Spain World Cup winner has committed to a new contract through to 2013.

Capdevila, 32, was being linked with Valencia as his previous deal was due to expire in June.

But after much consideration, the veteran chose to commit to the Yellow Submarine another two years.
