Manolo Jimenez was thrilled to begin his career as Sevilla coach with a 3-0 victory over Valencia.

Fredi Kanoute, Christian Poulsen and Luis Fabiano struck for Sevilla and Jimenez remarked afterwards: "I feel like a player. We saw the Sevilla of the last seasons today and have played very well. I'm known to be ambitious, but overnight a team does not change because I want it to. The people who decide the games are the players. They wanted to play as a team with and without the ball.

"The support of the fans has been very good because I am one of them. I thank the players for the attitude they showed."
