Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez accepts criticism of summer defensive signings Aquivaldo Mosquera and Khalid Boulahrouz is warranted.

Both players have bore the brunt of criticism from fans over their performances this season and Jimenez told AS: "I understand the expectations of international players like Mosquera and Boulahrouz. And I can see why people are annoyed about the individual failures that have existed in defence, but it is not necessary to blame only them because there have been others at fault.

"It is necessary not to draw more blood because it hurts them and we need them to continue working hard to recover their confidence."
