Ji happy to score first Sunderland goal against Chelsea

Ji Dong-won says scoring a first goal for Sunderland against Chelsea is a huge confidence boost.

The South Korean international believes he can contribute further in front of goal after opening his Sunderland account in injury time when he converted Nicklas Bendtner's flick, sweeping the ball smartly past Petr Cech.

"Larsson crossed the ball and Bendtner flicked - I shot and it went to the back of the net," he told safc.com. "I think it was fortunate.

"This goal gives me confidence that I can score in the Premier League.

"I am happy to score but I wish we (the team) had got some points from the match."
