Former Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell has rejected interest from Derby County.

Jewell insisted he had no intention of taking the post as he did not want to stab current boss Billy Davies in the back.

Yet a Pride Park source told The Sun: "Jewell has proved he can keep smaller clubs in the top flight - no one here is convinced Billy can do the same thing."
