Jesus Garcia Pitarch resigns as sporting director at Valencia

Jesus Garcia Pitarch has resigned as sporting director at Valencia.

The decision comes as a surprise as García Pitarch was due to fly to Turin on Monday to meet up with Juventus officials to complete the loans of striker Simone Zaza and full-back Patrice Evra.

He follows the resignation of Cesare Prandelli last week.

Valencia Statement:

Jesús García Pitarch has resigned irrevocably from his role as Sporting Director

1) Jesús García Pitarch has resigned irrevocably from his role as Sporting Director.

2) Current VCF Academy Director, José Ramón Alesanco, will take on the position in an interim capacity.

3) His immediate tasks will be to continue with the work scheduled for the current winter market, and work on everything related to the Valencia CF first team in coordination with coach Salvador 'Voro' González.
