Mathieu is also aware of Barca shopping for a young cenre-half, with Palmeiras stopper Yerry Mina high on the agenda.

The veteran, 33, is now weighing up his options.

A return to France has been mooted for Mathieu, though enquiries from the Premier League have also arrived this season.
