Carl Jenkinson is hoping to force his way into the Arsenal team, after making his first appearance of the season against Reading in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

The 24 year old has spent the last two seasons on loan at West Ham, but has missed the start of this campaign through injury.

However, after impressing in the 2-0 win, the England international is now hoping to press first-choice right-back Hector Bellerin for his place in the starting XI.

"I hope I still have a role to play, we will see won't we?" Jenkinson said.
