Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says they will continue to run the club as they see fit.
Swans have had a difficult summer after arguments with manager Michael Laudrup over transfer policy.
Jenkins said: "We run our football club in a certain way and whether it's Michael Laudrup and his agent or another manager and his agent, we will continue to run the club as we see fit, as we have done for the last 10 years."
That clearly includes the purchase of players, with Jenkins continuing: "We have been profitable over the last couple of years by signing the right player who we believe is right for our club.
"We weren't not going to do that; it's obviously finding the right one that we believe is coming here for the right reasons and then we would pay the required fee to make sure we got that player to help the club to go forward."
