Ferrie Bodde managed just 52 starts in five seasons with Swansea, but chairman Huw Jenkins reckons only those injuries prevented him becoming a star in England.
He said:
Bodde said: "It feels as if I'm leaving home to go home. After five years here, I'm going to miss Swansea and its people.
"It's been frustrating at times with all the injuries, but the fans have always been very supportive and warm towards me. That support has helped me fight my way back from the injuries and I will always be extremely grateful to them for that." "There is no doubting his talent and he would have been one of the best players in the Championship and probably one of the best in the Premier League."
The Dutchman is currently back training with his first club Den Haag as he continues his fightback from a third cruciate ligament injury.
