Jenas says Spurs locker room buzzing over Beckham arrival

Jermaine Jenas admits Tottenham's dressing room is buzzing over the arrival on-loan of LA Galaxy star David Beckham.

In a column for the London Evening Standard, Jenas wrote: "Even if it is only for a few months, he will bring great experience to the squad. He has won titles everywhere he has been. That combined with his quality will be fantastic for us.

"There has been a lot of talk about whether at 35-years-old he could still make an impact in the Premier League. I have no doubts at all.

"Yes he went to the MLS but the last few years he has proved himself by coming back to play in Serie A for AC Milan. I have also played with Becks at England level and know how much of a fantastic professional the guy is, how hard he works.

"It was only last year that I trained with him at England and the guy is still frightening. He may have lost a yard of pace but the thing you notice is that he is still very fit. You still can't get the ball off him and his brain works very quickly.

"If you look at our team we're all about pace. We get up and down the pitch very fast but some days you do need something a little bit different.

"Teams do drop off us and close the space in behind because they know how quick we are. Some days you just need that added bit of quality."
